Learning to Crochet

Hello and happy winter! I've recently taken up crochet. I had a lot of trouble at first. I was trying to teach myself using free YouTube tutorials. After unraveling the same scarf 5 time, it finally clicked. Here is the first scarf I made. Other than wishing it was a little wider, I'm happy with how it turned out. After this I made a wider scarf with a red softer, bulkier yarn for my mom for Christmas:  This hat is the reason I learned how to crochet. My boyfriend is big fan of the Kansas Jayhawks. I was looking for a Christmas present for him online and saw a picture of a Jawhawk head hat for $40. They were selling the pattern for $5. I thought, how hard can it be? Turns out, it wasn't that difficult! This hat is made using only single crochet. Each face piece was made separately and sewn on.
