Repainting Furniture
This summer Nick and I tried our hand at repainting furniture. Here are the two that we did. It turned out to be a pretty inexpensive way to make something old and worn out into a beautiful piece of furniture! Here are the supplies we needed for each project: 3 cans of spray paint (usually $3 a can) 1 can of spray paint primer (optional - we only used this on the dark wood table. We did not need it for the desk because it was already a light color. Our regular spray paint included primer) Sander Rags Wet sand paper Polyurethane and brushes We started by giving the whole thing a good sanding with the power sander. Then we used dry, then wet rags to clean it. Then we sprayed a layer of paint. After it dried a few hours, we did a light wet sand. Repeat this process for 2 more layers (more if needed). Let it dry over night. If you want to add a design, I used Con-Tact paper to make my own stencil. The Con-Tact paper is sticky on the back, you can stick it
